Not every young girl dreams of being a princess....
Some little girls like to climb trees, play in the mud, race with the boys
and do daring things.
Some little girls would much rather be playing outside in nature
than playing inside with dolls.
Some little girls hate wearing dresses and combing their hair too.
How do I know this?
Because I was one of those little girls!
Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet
is a children's book that celebrates this kind of girl.
And you can bet that Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet
has a lot more adventures to come!

How Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet became a book
I wrote and recorded an audio version of Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet and gave it out to a few friends. I was surprised to find out that one of my young ukulele students to whom I had given the audio track to listened to it every night before bed...for two months straight and counting.
That same student came up to me one day and said, "I love your story Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet, but can I have the book that goes with it now?"
I told her there was no book, only the audio CD and I watched her happy little face drop.
"Well that doesn't make any sense she said. There should be a book, Jen Rosen."
So then the illustrations began to manifest and every week before her lesson she would ask to see the next one that I had drawn. She never held back from giving me pointers that only a 7-year old could so freely give. With the help of my little muse, the Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet book was born.

The Author's intent/ Not another Princess Story
Most children's books have main characters that are boys not girls. If the main character is a girl, it is usually a princess. Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet is a female character that is unique. She is bold, daring, strong, athletic, competitive, a bit stubborn and a tomboy.
It is my intent to bring to the world stories that celebrate children like Walks With The Wind Under Her Feet. It is also my intent to create storylines that are exciting, and have respect for nature, friendship, family, love and community. Stories that inspire children to dream and to be brave and authentic. Stories that illustrate humility and maturity that are fostered through grace.
